Futurecasting
The designs on this page describe speculative projects I did while with blockchain developer Input Output. As a designer working in crypto, part of my work involved looking ahead to anticipate how the space may change in the future, through the lens of product, design and messaging.

At their core, these designs were structurally guided by a desire to explore the impact AI is likely to have on our work, specifically a style of design involving rapid ideation and MVP-style (minimum viable product) rendition of concepts. While the initial ideas anchoring the work sprung from my imagination, the conceptual, verbal and visual development was amplified through the use of ChatGPT and MidJourney.

Because the idea behind the above images would require working with the existing Canon brand in its speculative execution, I prompted the AI through a superficial industrial design process, generating a range of visual concepts. Here we see several cameras we created, aiming for an aesthetic presence that could convincingly represent a product featuring hardware level integration with satellite blockchain oracles.

Given that I had previously developed my concept to a state where I had a well rounded idea of the technology involved, I was also able to generate an infographic explaining the technical ideas. Alongside industrial design, advertising, branding, and product design concepts, something like this serves not only to fill out a presentation, but also helps in the process of iteration on the idea itself.

The second concept in this project revolved around an idea of tokenized ownership of rental property. Motivated by consideration of new possibilities presented by tokenization in the real estate market, it is possible to imagine collective ownership replacing the landlord-renter relationship as the de facto form of property stewardship. Here we have a press release detailing the publication of research into legal frameworks to support this approach, as well as an infographic and advertising concepts.
