Information design

I have always been fascinated with data visualization, at least partly owing to its ready overlap with creative coding. In recent years, my involvement with software development and blockchain has provided opportunities to flex and grow these skills.

This is a module I designed during my time with UCLA's Opus group. The code is written in Processing, and was created as a means of demonstrating our in-house capability to imagine, design, and execute dramatic data visualization.

CIP-1694 is a proposed system of blockchain governance for the Cardano blockchain. This collection of infographics presents an explanation that aims to convey key ideas to a semi-technical audience. The layouts above were posted as a series of tweets comprising an overview of Cardano's governance plan. The final two layouts use the same visual language, but provide a more detailed 'deep dive' into the voting process itself.

Above is a collection of data dashboard visualization designs, part of the UTXO Alliance brand spec which features on its own page in this portfolio.

When the Input Output design team assembled the brand for the Lace wallet, I was asked to contribute a data visualization spec. I approached these designs for the dashboard with a mobile-first approach, conceiving the 'threads' project as a special feature that could be deployed as both social assets and microsite.

In the months after deploying Lace, our marketing team experimented with several "data-as-content" approaches for social. Here are several variants I designed in response to a year-end retrospective brief.
